Apple shared some interesting stats for its Mac Business, the data is quite interesting. In a briefing with TechCrunch, Apple’s Phil Schiller admitted that Apple’s Mac platform has been adopted nearly 100 million times. “The Mac user base is nearing 100 million users. As a business, it’s also nearing a $25 billion run rate and is close to being a Fortune 100 company on its own. Apple now ships computers at a ratio of 80 percent notebooks to 20 percent desktop computers, a stat they haven’t updated the public on in some time. MacBook Pro sales have been strong, with 20 percent growth in fiscal Q1 y/y.” Well, in September 2016, Microsoft announced that there were 400 million active Windows 10 devices, which makes the Windows 10 operating system 4 times more popular than Apple’s Mac devices. However, there is a huge catch here. Microsoft announced 400 million active Windows 10 devices more than half a year ago. So, over the past 6 months, Windows 10 has likely gained more active devices. Apple is going to refresh few products in coming times like iMac lineup, which is company’s desktop computer family is going to be refreshed. New Mac Pro is also going to be introduced in 2019.
